Swim in 30 minute blocks or continuous for 24 or 12 hours.
Swim for up to 30 minutes, followed by a 30-minute break, every hour for 12 or 24 hours. With a steady cycle of swim and rest, you’ll find your pace as the hours pass and the world around you shifts from dusk to dawn.
For the ultimate endurance test, swim continuously for 24 or 12 hours.

River Waveney Wild Swim
Sunday 5th July 2026
NEW FOR 2026 – 3.9km and 7.2km options!
Starting from the amazing Waveney River Centre, Burgh St. Peter, participants will meander along the stunning River Waveney, stopping at the feed stations located at North Cove and Aldeby, before entering Beccles under the iron bridge and passing the stunning buildings that flank the river. Finally, participants will complete the swim, exiting the river at Beccles Lido and crossing the finish line.

River Waveney Wild Swim 2026
The swim takes place on Sunday 5th July 2026. We’re expecting this event will be a brilliant day for both those who are new to long distance swimming and seasoned long distance/marathon swimmers, as well as a real spectacle for Beccles townsfolk and visitors to our lovely little corner of the Waveney Valley.
3 Distance Options – 12km, 7.2km and 3.9km. These all occur on the same day and run side by side.
12km Event
Starting from Burgh St Peter (optional transport from Beccles provided), this is the full and orginal 12km distance. There will be 2 feed stations along the route – North Cove at 4.8km and Aldeby at 8.2km.
There are 120 places. As soon as the entry list is full, a waiting list automatically opens – so complete your registration as instructed on screen and your name will be added to the waiting list. There are always drop out from our events, and we will take names from the waiting list, so keep an eye on your inbox (and spam folder) if you’re on the list!
7.2km Event
Starting from our first checkpoint at North Cove (optional transport from Beccles provided). 1 feed station along the route – Aldeby at 3.3km.
There are 15 places. As soon as the entry list is full, a waiting list automatically opens.
3.9km Event
Starting from our second checkpoint at Aldeby (optional transport from Beccles provided). There will be no feed stations along the route.

The Route:
The event will be based at Beccles Lido. Participants will arrive and register here, before being shuttled to their respective start lines at Burgh St. Peter, North Cove or Aldeby.
Starting from the amazing Waveney River Centre, Burgh St. Peter (for the 12Km distance), participants will meander along the stunning River Waveney, stopping at the feed stations located at North Cove and Aldeby, where they will be joined by the shorter 7.2 and 3.9km distance swimmers, before entering Beccles under the iron bridge and passing the stunning buildings that flank the river. Finally, participants will complete the swim, exiting the river at Beccles Lido and crossing the finish line.

Christmas Swim

A festive favourite! Brave the winter waters in our annual Christmas Swim, the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends, family, and fellow swimmers.
This year, heated to 25ºC!
An uninterrupted 4 hours of swim time. Race yourself, your mates or amble up and down working off all that food.
Santa hat optional. Festive cheer compulsory!!

Swim for up to 4 hours in our heated outdoor pool (25ºC), enjoying the beautiful winter views of the River Waveney and work off that turkey and trimmings.
Choose your own speed and distance – with 4 lane speeds, you can bimble along and natter, push yourself to swim the festive 100x100s (10k), or lido 100x100s (12k) for an ultimate test, or even swim solidly for the full 4 hours. The choice really is yours!
Entry includes a FREE barista hot drink.
Open to anyone 13 years+. (13-16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult at all times, though not neccessarily in the pool, and must be accustomed to swimming in pools with temperatures below the usual 25-28ºC)
