River Waveney Wild Swim

Sunday 29th June 2025

Starting from the amazing Waveney River Centre, Burgh St. Peter, participants will meander along the stunning River Waveney, stopping at the feed stations located at North Cove and Aldeby, before entering Beccles under the iron bridge and passing the stunning buildings that flank the river. Finally, participants will complete the swim, exiting the river at Beccles Lido and crossing the finish line.

The swim takes place on Sunday 29th June 2025. We’re hoping this inaugural event is going to be a brilliant day for both those who are new to long distance swimming and seasoned long distance/marathon swimmers, as well as a real spectacle for Beccles townsfolk and visitors to our lovely little corner of the Waveney Valley.

The Route:

The event will be based at Beccles Lido. Participants will arrive and register here, before being shuttled to the start line at Burgh St. Peter.

The event will cover a distance of 12km. Feed stations will be located at the 4.8km, and 8.2km markers. These points will also be the relay changeover locations, giving swim distances of 4.8km, 3.3km and 3.9km.
